A 16mm Destination Wedding in the Ski Mountains of Steamboat Springs
Filming Austin and Brooke's wedding on a mashup of 16mm film and digital footage was so fun! the Gaiss'es rented out the lodge that belongs to Steamboat Resort. It sits. boastfully atop one of the towns higher mountains with beautiful runs all the way down. Guest and family were escorted up to the ceremony spot via the resort's gondola--a breathtaking 10 minute ride that gets you crawling with anticipation.
16mm and digital hybrid videos are some of the sweetest films that can utilize the great abilities of both formats. While not for the hardcore film enthusiast, they satiate the appetite of those who love film but want the pro's of having digital footage too (and all that extra RAW footage). While we don't do solely digital films, we enjoy from time to time, using the medium in combination with our beloved 8mm and 16mm wedding films.
